SPOKANE, Wash. — The Hot Club of Spokane will present Lilac City Stomp on October 24, 2026, a full day of swing dance and live jazz in the historic Marie Antoinette Ballroom at the Davenport Hotel, made possible by a Spokane Arts Grant Award (SAGA).
The day features a full day of free programming, plus a ticketed evening showcase. Lilac City Stomp begins with three dance workshops led by nationally recognized swing dance instructor Undre Reed alongside Woodside Swing's local instructors, followed by a free matinee with open dancing and live swing music performed by Zonky Jazz Band under the direction of nationally touring bandmembers, Lauryn Gould and Jonathan Doyle. The event caps off with a ticketed evening showcase, featuring dance performances, more live music from Zonky Jazz Band, Lauryn Gould, and Jonathan Doyle, and open dancing on the incredible sprung dance floor of the Marie Antoinette Ballroom.
The event continues nearly two decades of the Hot Club of Spokane's work producing live jazz and swing music in the Inland Northwest, tracing back to the 2006 Think Swing New Orleans Jazz Festival and continuing through years of growth alongside Woodside Swing and its predecessor dance programs.

About the Hot Club of Spokane The Hot Club of Spokane is a Spokane-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and performing hot jazz, growing the dance scene, and preserving local history. Founded by Garrin Hertel and Robert Folie, The Hot Club of Spokane is home to three resident ensembles, the Zonky Jazz Band, Red Hot Kitten Stompers, and the Swingtet of the Hot Club of Spokane, as well as the Woodside Swing dance program. About Undre Reed Undre is a Washington-based swing dance instructor and performer with over two decades of experience in the Lindy Hop and jazz dance community. Trained in Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Blues, and Hip-Hop/House, Reed has taught at regional festivals including the Leavenworth Jazz Festival and OlyDance in Olympia, and has competed nationally at Camp Jitterbug, one of the country's premier Lindy Hop festivals. At Lilac City Stomp, he will lead morning workshops, teach alongside Woodside Swing's local instructors, and offer individualized coaching throughout the day.
About Lauryn Gould Lauryn is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and educator based in Austin, Texas, holding degrees in flute performance, community music, and jazz saxophone performance. She has performed with Jon Batiste and the Black Pumas, including an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, and is a veteran of international swing dance events such as Lindyfest, the Nevermore Jazz Ball, and the Austin Lindy Exchange. She previously spent five years as an organizer for the Hot Rhythm Foundation, a nonprofit supporting Austin's early jazz and swing dance community.
About Jonathan Doyle Jonathan is a saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and arranger based in Port Townsend, Washington, with a career spanning Chicago, Austin, and New Orleans. A regular touring member of the ten-time Grammy Award-winning Asleep at the Wheel, he has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, Preservation Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night's Swing, and major festivals from New Orleans to Australia, and has toured with Tuba Skinny, the Fat Babies, and Naomi & Her Handsome Devils, among others.
