It's Hot Jazz Sunday Night! The monthly jazz night continues in 2026 at Hamilton Studio Listening Room with the Swingtet of the Hot Club of Spokane with special guest, Patricia Bartell!

Patricia Bartell's accordion life began in rural Montana, where she started lessons at the age of eight after being adopted from an orphanage in La Paz, Bolivia. She went on to become the first student to graduate from Whitworth University with a B.A. in Music Education and Accordion Performance, and has since studied with piano and accordion masters including Dr. Judith Schoepflin, Kendall Feeney, and Frederic Deschamps. A world champion competitor whose titles include the Kimberley International and Leavenworth International championships, Patricia is now recognized across North America and abroad as a performer, teacher, and adjudicator. She represents the United States as a judge for the Trophée Mondial of the World Confederation of Accordionists, and in 2012 served as president of the organizing body when Spokane hosted the Trophée Mondial, the first time the world championships were held in the U.S. Since 2003 she has run Bartell Music Academy in Spokane, where she grooms students with the talent and drive to compete on the world stage, and she reaches learners everywhere through Accordion Life Academy, one of the most comprehensive online accordion video education resources. A Hohner endorsee and artist, she helped develop the Hohner Teacher Certified Simply Music Accordion Method, performs with the Argentine tango quartet Tango Volcado, and is a two-time TEDx speaker.

Doors open at 5:15pm. Dance lesson at 5:30pm. Concert from 6-8pm.

This is an all-ages event, but for those of legal age with ID, a bar with beer and wine is available. Hamilton Studio also has Charcuterie Boxes on offer at every Hot Jazz Sunday Night.
